Commission: Shadymissionary by Saphamia Commission: Shadymissionary by Saphamia
Points commission for :iconshadymissionary:, of Abbot Durral treating Romsca during her final moments. (my copy of the Pearls of Lutra is in storage somewhere, so I couldn't read up on how the scene actually played out, so I went off my memory).
Romsca has long been a favourite character of mine, so it was good to finally get the chance to draw her :) (Even though it's a sad scene.)

Romsca, Abbot Durral, and the world of Redwall are all (c) Brian Jacques

one of my favorite bits from any redwall book. i dearly wished she coulda gone the way of Blaggut from The Bellmaker. its prolly my only critique on those wonderful stories by Mr Jacques, that there weren't more vermin endings like Blagguts

Oh, oh my goodness... I cried so hard at that part, mainly sad, but also a tiny part of me happy for Romsca then, when she realized it was a good thing to be called "my child..." This is such a beautiful rendition of one of the most moving scenes in all of Redwall.
